ArchiCAD 17 Debuts at AIA 2013 National Conference

BOSTON -- At the 2013 AIA National Conference, GRAPHISOFT is showcasing ArchiCAD® 17, the new release of its premium BIM software to the architectural community. GRAPHISOFT will demonstrate the key customer focused initiatives found in ArchiCAD 17 at its booth #3710 in the Colorado Convention Center, June 20-22.

Highlights at this year's show include a live demonstration of ArchiCAD's end-to-end design solution presenting the unique advantages in GRAPHISOFT's one-of-a-kind BIM-based documentation workflow.  Attendees will have the opportunity to see how ArchiCAD 17 simplifies modeling and documentation - from simple models to the most detailed, data-rich models - and the tools uniquely available in ArchiCAD 17 to keep BIM model 'alive' for the duration of the project.

"Once again, ArchiCAD 17 exemplifies GRAPHISOFT's commitment to enhancing the design process for architects. Architectural practices no longer need to abandon their BIM solutions and switch to 2D for construction documentation," said Steve Benford, Managing Director, GRAPHISOFT North America. "The Priority Based Connections automatically provide construction documentation level sections and details generating real value-added to all the work done on the BIM leading up to that point."

On the floor, the GRAPHISOFT-sponsored education session, "Creating Your Ecosystem", will address how firms can implement unique solutions that result in successful collaboration among diverse teams.  Led by Russ Sanders AIA, Orcutt Winslow, and Monte Chapin, GRAPHISOFT North America Business Process Leader, the session will discuss best practices for deploying tools and partners that elicit trust and performance across all members of the BIM team.

The session will take advantage of ArchiCAD 17 to show how architects, engineers, contractors, and owner representatives can successfully pass files back and forth across time zones, platforms, and tools. Examples will include how team members can design and output work faster and more accurately by implementing IFC exchange, building information modeling (BIM) server technology, and other file sharing and checking tools.

A free AIA Learning Session is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday on the AIA Convention Floor in CE Theatre C.
