TEAC Introduces 550-Disc High-Capacity Autoprinter Solution

Company adds the AL550S Autoprinter to its line of Disc Publishing Products

MONTEBELLO, Calif., Oct. 14 -- TEAC, a premier manufacturer of Disc Publishing Products, announces the launch of their 550-Disc High-capacity Autoprinter solution for the TEAC P-55 dye-sublimation thermal disc printer.

"One ribbon is all that is needed to complete a job during an overnight eight hour shift. Customers do not even have to change ribbons," says Les Luzar, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing, TEAC America, Inc. "Our Photo, Color and Versamax ribbons can print 500 discs and with the AL550S that means no more worrying about changing ribbons in the middle of the job. With AL550S, customers can print 500 discs unattended in an overnight eight hour shift, making money while they sleep!"

TEAC's AL550S Autoprinter prints up to 68 discs an hour. Up to 8 printers can be operated from one PC. The new "Sticky Disc" mode separates discs that stick together. AL550S can be set up and configured easily. There are no robotics software needed to interface with a computer and the unit prints directly from applications. TEAC AL550S also features an LCD touchpad to allow for setup and diagnostics directly on the unit.

"The advanced robotic mechanism is used to transport discs from the input bins to the integrated TEAC P-55 printer and then to output bins," says Les Luzar, "Technically any graphic file will be accepted such as tif, psd, eps or jpg, etc., as well as pdf files, making it easier to complete the job."

"With our newly introduced Lease-to-Own" program, customers can lease the TEAC AL550S for as little as $200 per month, with the first and last month payments as downpayments. This program makes it easier for our customers to own this product and start producing today." says Les Luzar.

The AL550S could be used with either the TEAC P-55 thermal disc printer or with the TEAC 4800 dpi inkjet printer.

TEAC high-capacity AL550S Autoprinter solution, configured with the TEAC P-55 dye-sublimation thermal disc printer, produces the world's sharpest photo image quality prints available. TEAC's P-55 is the world's only dye-sublimation thermal disc printer and is the sharpest image quality disc printer available. It is also the only Four-color CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) disc printer that offers "True-Black" instead of composite black by including the Black Panel on the ribbon.

Exclusive VersaMax ribbon for the P-55 disc printer provides the widest media compatibility, therefore, lowest cost-per-printed disc for customers. Customers can print on most media available in the market. P-55 is the most widely supported printer by 3rd -party robotic manufacturers. Customers can now easily upgrade from their inkjet printers to the TEAC's P-55 thermal disc printer if they already have a robotics system they are using, so they can save money by only upgrading the printer.

"With Our VersaMax ribbon, there is no need to buy media kits any more," says Luzar, "VersaMax is compatible with most media in the market today so you can choose your favorite media to print on and lower your cost-per-printed disc. None of our competitors offer a similar product."

TEAC will present the P-55 thermal disc printer, more details on its new "Lease-to-Own" program for its disc publishing products, and its full line of disc printers, autoloaders, publishers and duplicators at the GraphExpo Show, at Chicago's McCormick Place, Chicago, IL, Booth Number 3741, October 26-29th, 2008.
