Starrett Introduces Versatile Inspection Sets for Measuring Precise Distance or Alignment

New Inspection Sets Ideal for Automotive and Other Applications Requiring Precision Measurement

ATHOL, MASS., - The L.S. Starrett Company recently introduced its new Automotive Inspection Sets to help mechanics measure the proper distance or alignment between parts in a tightly confined space. While the two new Inspection Sets are ideal for measuring the amount of front-end play or ball joint wear, for example, they also can check part movement associated with other applications as well. The two inspection kits combine a highly flexible configuration with several options to allow mechanics to secure the measurement fixture to whatever surface is available.

As mechanics and other technicians know, repairing or modifying automobiles and trucks can require very precise measurements. Tasks such as setting proper distance or alignment can prove critical to safe vehicle operation. Starrett's Automotive Inspection Sets offers mechanics two easy ways to attach Starrett's measurement dial indictor for taking precise readings, either by the use of locking pliers, which are included, or by a separate magnetic base. Using pliers or the magnetic base, Starrett's Flex-O-Post and indicator easily attach to any stable, reliable surface.

Starrett offers the inspection sets in two models: the S898Z-1, which includes pliers, Flex-O-Post, a dial indicator (.001" grads, 1" travel) and fitted plastic case, or the S898Z-2, which is identical, except it includes a magnetic base for additional mounting options.
