Tridium Releases Latest Software Update for the NiagaraAX Framework

NiagaraAX 3.4 adds new support for 64 Bit Windows, Redhat Linux (X86), My SQL and IPV6 as well as other enhancements and features

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA, October 20, 2008- Tridium, Inc. today announced the latest software update for the NiagaraAX, Framework, the company's leading automation infrastructure and device-to-enterprise integration platform. With the release of NiagaraAX 3.4, users have new additions that expand the functionality and manageability of the platform.

NiagaraAX 3.4 adds a broad set of new support capabilities and features including:

64 bit Windows Support

Support for the 64 bit Windows OS has been added to this release enabling a higher capacity AX Supervisor. As a result, more resources are now available for the Java environment thus allowing larger systems to be supported by an AX Supervisor.

Redhat Linux Support for X86 Platforms

Tridium has added a new option for the Framework's AX Supervisor to run on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.

MySQL Support

A new driver supporting the MySQL database has been is now available.

IPv6 Support

Support for IPv6 has been incorporated. IPv6 is the next generation protocol designed to gradually replace the current version Internet Protocol, IP Version 4 (IPv4). Also integrated in this release is an Object Relational Mapping API feature which provides a mechanism for Niagara applications to store components in a relational database for use by applications with large quantities of data. In addition, an enhanced Niagara Virtual Points feature has been included to provide a way to monitor data that is important but not required in the control logic, alarming, or trend data. This gives users the advantage of not taking up permanent database space or consuming network bandwidth for data that is rarely accessed.

This latest version has something for everyone - customers, partners and developers," said Marc Petock, Vice President, Global Marketing and Communications for Tridium. "These new additions provide many benefits that continue support the platform as the enabling technology of choice for device-to-integration and automation solutions."
