Robohand's QC-400 Automatic Tool Changer Delivers Increased Efficiency, Safety And Capacity For Extreme Industry Applications

Madison Heights, Michigan, September 27, 2005-Robohand (Monroe, Conn.), a DE-STA-CO Company, has announced an addition to its end of arm tooling solutions - the QC-400 automatic tool changer. With the QC-400, end effector tooling can be changed quickly and easily to accommodate many different styles of parts on the same robot. Accurate positional repeatability, high rigidity, and load carrying capacity in all directions make the QC-400 tool changer an excellent solution for demanding material handling applications.

Like all Robohand products, the QC-400 is designed to help users achieve higher flexibility and leaner operations. Easy expandability and re-tooling is offered through the QC-400 series modular design, allowing the customer to freely choose from a selection of optional interfaces including a 4 port face seal pneumatic module or 19 pin I/O module with a standard protective boot to better protect the contact pins from fluid or air borne particulate. For installation simplicity, the 19 pin I/O module is available pre-wired for a molded cable supplied standard by Robohand. It has a customary integral latch/unlatch sensor to signal the coupled condition of the tool changer.

The QC-400 has a combined weight of only 9.2 lbs., yet is designed to take moment loads up to 7,000 in./lbs., giving it an excellent weight to payload ratio. It can withstand the most demanding material handling applications.

Robohand, a DE-STA-CO Company, will feature its QC-400 at this year's ATExpo in booth #311. ATExpo is being held September 27 to September 29 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois.
