A new air operated automatic Chuck used for Automatic Tool Changing is being introduced by SUNSPOT EDM Tooling of Warren, Michigan at IMTS 2002 being held at the McCormick Place in Chicago, September 4-11.
The SquareOne AutoChuck is the newest addition to the SquareOne Tooling System designed and manufactured by SUNSPOT in Warren, Michigan. Industry standards were used for the bolt pattern, porting for air blow off, Holder sensing and central flushing and it will bolt directly to most modern machines with a C-axis.
Some of the benefits of the SquareOne system are: Ultra accurate positioning and repeatability of the Holders, 90 degree indexing of all Holders, heavy milling of the electrode shape due to solid, true one piece Holder design and the ability to maintain perfect concentricity when changing from large to small Holders since SUNSPOT's design is not an assembly of two systems which may not be concentric with each other.
SUNSPOT also manufactures 20 mm tooling which is interchangeable with other systems. Our 20 mm tooling has been manufactured and refined for over 14 years. The emphasis is to build features into their tooling that is only available from SUNSPOT.
