LabDELTA Extreme(TM) Systems Fit Under the Sink to Treat Strong Acid Waste in Laboratories

Chatsworth, CA - Wastech Controls & Engineering, Inc. announces LabDELTA Extreme(TM), a series of compact, totally enclosed acid waste neutralization systems for concentrated acids with a pH between 0 and 2. These systems improve laboratory safety by eliminating accidents from exothermic reactions, spills, burns and glass breakage associated with acid waste. They also assure compliance with applicable laws by properly treating acid waste.

Designed for use in laboratories, the systems are sized to treat 2, 4 or 6 gallon batches and can fit under the sink in existing lab cabinets or casework. For installations where an under-the-sink installation is not possible, Wastech offers a countertop waste station that becomes a receiving station for acid waste and feeds directly to the treatment system using PVDF piping.

LabDelta Extreme Systems manage heat and assure safety for technician by slowly injecting the acid waste into a reaction chamber by means of a transfer pump. Automated controls are provided by a PLC and special Wastech software. An integral discharge pump transfers the treated waste to the sink or sewer. The waste input fitting, water inlet, and discharge outlet lines are easily accessible. The chemical supply, usually caustic soda (50% NaOH), is filled from the front without removing the cover.

Installation does not require a contractor or electrician, but is easily accomplished by lab technicians by connecting threaded fittings and plugging in the system's 110V, single-phase electrical power cord. A remote control panel is available as an option.

LabDELTA Extreme(TM) for strong acids augments Wastech's LabDELTA(TM) line of automated laboratory waste treatment systems, which are designed for school, university and research laboratories. Complete packages are available in either 2, 4 or 6 gallon batch designs or 1, 2 or 3 gpm continuous designs. All include automated controls and offer communications for alarm reporting.
