OPEX Corporation Introduces Perfect Pick(TM): A Perfectly Simple Solution to the Complex Challenges of Automated Piece Picking for Warehouse and Distribution Center Operations
Press release date: December 5, 2012
MOORESTOWN, NEW JERSEY – OPEX Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of Perfect Pick™ into the Material Handling and Logistics industry. Perfect Pick is a unique, automated, high-speed, goods-to-person, picking solution based upon proven OPEX technology.
Perfect Pick is engineered to simplify the complexity associated with other shuttle technologies in the market today. Perfect Pick’s revolutionary “one-touch” design is based on a single component - the iBOT™. iBOTs are intelligent, wireless vehicles that have 100% access to the inventory in a single aisle. Unlike other shuttle systems that must rely on lifts, conveyors or transfers, iBOTs travel around inside the storage rack at rates of up to 1,000 dual-cycles per hour picking and stocking inventory simultaneously and delivering totes or trays directly to the picking station located at one or both ends of the aisle.
A redundant system, Perfect Pick has no single point of failure making it a reliable picking solution ideal for manufacturing and order fulfillment operations. Autonomous iBOTs can be quickly and easily extracted or introduced back into the system without any major disruption to ongoing operations.
Perfect Pick is highly scalable in both size and speed. A single aisle system can be easily expanded by adding modules or more aisles. Additionally, iBOTs can be introduced or removed from the system in a matter of minutes quickly adapting throughput rates to ever-changing business demands and cycles. And Perfect Pick has a low cost entry point, which makes it a justifiable ROI.
“My 25 years in the Material Handing and Logistics industry confirm that OPEX Corporation has a truly unique product offering in Perfect Pick that will change the way the market approaches each picking operations. I simply could not be more excited about the prospect of applying our innovative technology to warehouse and distribution center operations. Perfect Pick is a game-changer. It automates warehouse and distribution center operations with greater speed, accuracy and reliability than ever before,” stated Jeff Hedges, President, OPEX Material Handling.
OPEX is dedicated to providing the highest quality products and service throughout the product life-cycle. To that end, OPEX controls all aspects of production, installation, maintenance and aftermarket service: Every Perfect Pick is designed, engineered, manufactured, and tested in 100% solar powered U.S. facilities by OPEX’s own dedicated employees.
Perfect Pick will make its public debut at ProMat on January 21, 2013, at McCormick Place in Chicago. A singleaisle, 200 location system will be operating in Booth No. 619.
