ITT's High Density Audio Connectors are 40% Smaller than Industry Standard XLR Connectors
SANTA ANA, Calif. - July 31, 2008 - ITT Interconnect Solutions, a leading global
manufacturer and supplier of connectors, interconnects, and cable assemblies, has developed a miniature audio connector solution. Designated the Mini-XL audio connector series, the circular device features quick one-touch connect/disconnect and is designed to withstand extreme field use.
"The Mini-XL audio connectors are 40% smaller than industry standard XLR connectors," said Keith Teichmann, director of marketing for ITT Interconnect Solutions. "The Mini-XL was developed to meet the demands of video, broadcast and recording customers for higher quality compact audio applications."
Ideal for high density applications, the Mini-XL audio connectors are specified for use in TV cameras, mixers/recording equipment, microphones, amplifiers/speakers, medical instruments, industrial control devices and test equipment.

A durable socket insulator minimizes vibration and electrical noise. The Mini-XL connector features a disconnect latch lock, goldplated contacts and a low reflectivity satin finish. The rear housing (cap) is available in plastic or metal for both male and female plugs.
Pricing for the Mini-XL male and female plugs ranges from $4 to $6, with typical pricing for the panel mount components ranging from $5 to $7, in quantities of 500 pieces.
