Attachable Heatsinks suit TO220s with thin base plates.
September 7, 2010 -
Attached by being pushed onto housing, FK 252 series are designed to accommodate electronic components in TO220 housings with 0.5 mm thick base plates. Integral retaining clips keep component in place and ensure favorable heat transfer from component to heatsink. Series includes 4 different versions: for vertical installation using 2 soldering pins with different lengths, for horizontal soldering, and for installation without soldering pin.

Attachable Heatsinks for TO 220 with Thin Base Plate 0.5 mm
Electronic components in TO220 housings are very popular. Over time, in the course of redesign, more and more semiconductor manufacturers have introduced a modified TO220 housing with reduced base plate thickness. In addition to 1.5 mm thick base plates, base plates which are just 0.5 mm thick are increasingly being used. For this thinner version, Fischer Elektronik offer new, specially designed heatsinks.
These heatsinks are easily attached by being pushed onto the TO220 housing. Integral retaining clips keep the component in place and ensure good heat transfer from the component to the heatsink. The FK 252 series is available in four different versions, namely for vertical installation using two soldering pins with different lengths, for horizontal soldering and for installation without a soldering pin. If you would like further information, please contact the Fischer Elektronik product specialists. They will be pleased to give you any advice you may require.
