Cypress Introduces World's First 32-Mbit and 64-Mbit Fast Asynchronous SRAMs

New Devices Feature Fast Response Times and Smallest Footprint; Add to Industry's Broadest Portfolio

SAN JOSE, Calif., - Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (Nasdaq: CY) today introduced 32-Mbit and 64-Mbit fast asynchronous SRAMs, the industry's first such devices. The new SRAMs offer very fast response times and the smallest footprint at these densities. They target applications such as storage servers, switches and routers, testing equipment, high-end security systems and military systems.

The CY7C1071DV33 32-Mbit 3V and CY7C1081DV33 64-Mbit 3V fast asynchronous SRAMs offer both 16-bit and 8-bit I/O configuration. The new 32-Mbit and 64-Mbit SRAMs offer very fast access times of 12 ns. They are available in RoHS-compliant 48-BGA packages with a footprint of 8.0 x 9.5 x 1.2 mm and 8.0 x 9.5 x 1.4 mm, respectively, the smallest package options for devices at these densities. The new fast asynchronous SRAMs are fabricated using Cypress's high-performance, 90-nm C9(TM) CMOS technology. Cypress is the industry leader for fast asynchronous and low-power SRAMs, with portfolios that range from 4-Kbit to 64-Mbit densities. More information on Cypress's fast asynchronous SRAMs is available at www.cypress.com/go/AsyncSRAMs.

"The introduction of the ultra-compact-footprint 32-Mbit and 64-Mbit Fast SRAMs first to the marketplace is a testament to our strong commitment to the SRAM business," said Sunil Thamaran, managing director of the Asynchronous Memory Business Unit at Cypress. "We are constantly looking to leverage deep submicron technologies along with design innovation to bring the next generation of high-performance SRAMs into the market."

Availability and Photo

The CY7C1071DV33 32-Mbit is currently in production and the CY7C1081DV33 64-Mbit fast asynchronous SRAM is sampling now with production expected in October 2010. A high-resolution photo of the 32-Mbit and 64-Mbit fast asynchronous SRAM is available at www.cypress.com/go/pr/3264asyncphoto.

About Cypress's SRAM Portfolio

Cypress is the worldwide leader in SRAMs with the industry's broadest portfolio of synchronous, fast asynchronous, low power asynchronous and non-volatile SRAMs. Cypress's synchronous SRAMs range up to 144-Mbit and feature the market's fastest available clock speeds and best-in-class 65-nm process technology. Cypress's broad portfolio of fast asynchronous and low-power SRAMs includes densities ranging from 4 Kbits to 64 Mbits in 90-nm process technology. These devices are used in a wide range of applications such as networking, POS terminals, gaming machines, storage, automotive and more. Cypress also offers the industry's most complete line of parallel nvSRAMs, ranging from 16-Kbit to 8-Mbit devices. These non-volatile SRAMs are manufactured on Cypress's S8(TM) 0.13-micron SONOS (Silicon Oxide Nitride Oxide Silicon) technology, enabling higher density memories that offer reliable data collection with very fast read and write access times. Cypress also offers multi-port memories up to 36 Mbits and FIFOs up to 4 Mbits. More information on Cypress's SRAM portfolio is available at www.cypress.com/go/memories.
