SkyBitz Launches Asset Tracking Software for Trailer Leasing Companies
STERLING, Va., Sept. 29 -- SkyBitz(R), the leading solutions provider of remote asset tracking and information management, today announced the launch of SkyBitz Partner and Leasing Application. This solution is hosted on SkyBitz InSight, a best-in-class software application for tracking, monitoring and managing a broad range of assets for multiple industries.
The Partner and Leasing Application provides leasing companies the ability to track the location of unleased assets, while also providing access to these same tracking solutions for their leasing customers via SkyBitz InSight.
The new SkyBitz offering allows trailer leasing companies to increase the utilization of their unleased assets and view each asset's leasing history for greater asset optimization and improved lease planning. Once the asset is assigned to a particular customer, it is grouped with other assets leased to that client. Tracking of the leased assets is then turned over to the lessee until the end of the contact.
Trailer tracking makes it easier for leasing companies to find stolen trailers and customers to recover stolen goods. Stolen cargo cost carriers $300 million a year in 2009, nearly three and a half times the 2008 total, according to FreightWatch International.
