Eurotherm's Store & Forward Maintains Total Data Integrity

LEESBURG, VA, USA, Oct. 13, 2008 - Eurotherm has recently launched "Store & Forward", a data archiving system developed to monitor and record information in compliance with increasingly strict standards for secure electronic recording control, but also to overcome the challenges associated with inaccurate data reporting from communication failures.

"Store & Forward" includes fault tolerant features such as time based redundant logging to continuously track process parameters. The system automatically stores data captured during lapses in communication and forwards a complete record to the configured server once communication is restored. The result is secure electronic recording with total data integrity.

"The 'Store & Forward' system offers the ideal solution for manufacturers who must address the rising quality control standards in the face of technical communications glitches that are, by their nature, often unavoidable like power outages and network server complications," says Peter Sherwin, Eurotherm's US Heat Treatment Business Development Manager. " 'Store & Forward' provides the assurance that there is never a moment which isn't being monitored."

Time based logging parameters used by "Store & Forward" include actual maximum, minimum, and average measures of all measurable process parameters. Event based parameters monitor Channel alarms, batch start and stop times, operator actions and notes including login activity and user event messages, and electronic signatures.

Data presentation features are trend chart and spreadsheet based for clear and accurate reporting. Operators can effectively present valid batch, sub- batch, and continuous data in both absolute and relative date and time.

Optimum security is further ensured through binary encoded read-only files, auto-FTP uploads to servers, secure embedded audit trials, and electronic signing and authorizing for secure batch release.
