September 16, 2011 - Intended for batch processing of loads up to 30 kg, Versa Mk III modular, ultrasonic cleaning system is capable of uniformly washing, deswarfing, degreasing, rinsing, and drying components. Any combination of said processes may be specified, based on tanks of 40, 80, or 120 L capacity, to define system that can be expanded/altered after installation. Transferring basket of components between each stage can be accomplished manually, semi-automatically, or fully automatically.

Debuts for New Aqueous Cleaning Machines

Hampshire-based industrial cleaning system supplier, Turbex, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, will respond to manufacturing industry's twin demands for higher levels of component cleanliness and safety in the workplace by launching two new, high-efficiency, aqueous washing machines.

Modular, ultrasonic cleaning system

Four years of continuous development has resulted in the introduction of the ultrasonic Versa Mk III aqueous cleaning lines for batch processing of loads up to 30 kg. The Surface World Show will mark the first public exhibition of the system in its redesigned form.

Of modular, compact construction, the equipment is capable of efficiently washing, deswarfing, degreasing, rinsing and drying batches of components to a high degree of uniformity. A customer may specify any combination of these processes, based on tanks of 40, 80 or 120 litres capacity, to define a system that can be expanded or altered after installation, if required.

The method for transferring the basket of components between each stage has been improved. Handling is accomplished either manually, semi-automatically with the assistance of a pneumatic or electrical lifting arrangement, or fully automatically under programmable logic control.

Another facet of the redesign is the inclusion of degassing as standard. This removes air dissolved in the water resulting from emptying and filling a tank. Presence of air is undesirable, as it takes energy out of the ultrasonic action and reduces its effectiveness.

Perhaps the most far-reaching upgrade is in the control system. The panel on each tank allows more convenient control over accessory functions such as basket dunking and fine filtration. Previously, they were adjusted from elsewhere on the line. Other control improvements include more preset programs and a seven-day timer for each heater.

Extended range of aqueous machines

The most recent aqueous cleaning machines to be introduced by Turbex are from the German-built MAFAC range. At the Surface World Show, it will be the Elba model that will be available for demonstration.

All Elba machines are distinguished by a world-patented system whereby the movements of the holding basket and spray jets are individually adjustable, allowing them to rotate in the same or opposite directions. Each program can therefore be tailored, together with other movement options such as rocking of the basket, to clean efficiently even the most complex parts.

Another notable point about these high quality machines is that they have integral condensing systems, so there is no need for extraction to be fitted.

There are five machines in the MAFAC range, allowing the washing process to be matched closely with the application to ensure precision cleaning across a wide range of component types and different soils. All machines have the same size of basket, which can be swapped between machines by users with multiple installations.
