uDeploy 4.7 Released
CLEVELAND, -- UrbanCode, makers of build, deploy, provisioning, and release automation software, today announced the release of version 4.7 of uDeploy - their deployment automation tool. The latest version improves upon the software's visibility, flexibility, and functionality through the addition of several key features.
The features in uDeploy 4.7 are a direct response to customer feedback. First, the need for added security is on the rise in the IT community. As a result, uDeploy now provides additional levels of control with Environment Gating, which allows users to enforce a particular promotion path for artifacts. For example, you can set a status that says, "In order for an environment to push to PROD, it must first have passed SIT and UAT." If it fails either of these, it cannot be promoted to production. These gates give users peace of mind knowing that the version being promoted has already passed the required tests. There is also additional security around who is allowed to apply a status and permit a version into production.
uDeploy 4.7 also features a complete history of everything that has been deployed. Users can now track changes to a specific configuration, and can deploy a particular version of a configuration in a snapshot. Building on this, the changelog has been upgraded; providing greater visibility into who changed what. Additionally, the release features richer parameterization of Component Templates. Users are now able to define what properties must be specified by components using the template.
