A10 Networks Unveils IPv6 Support for its AX Series Application Acceleration Switch

Award-winning AX Series Supports IPv6 Server Load Balancing to Scale Customers' Growing Networks

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 12 /-- A10 Networks(R) today announced its AX Series Application Acceleration Switch supports the new Internet Protocol, IPv6. The AX Series is a next-generation server load balancer that recently won Best of Interop Las Vegas 2007 in the "Application Performance and Networks" category, beating the competition based on its Advanced Core Operating System (ACOS) architecture, which leaps the incumbents in performance and scalability. With this feature update, the AX Series supports dual stack IPv4 and IPv6 server load balancing, with management through either IPv4 or IPv6, ensuring customers' networks are forward/backward compatible and perform optimally as users and business applications grow.

With the trend of rich media applications and Web 2.0 applications to mobile devices, there is a growing shortage of IPv4 addresses. As a result, some of the leading ISPs, government agencies and enterprises are starting to invest in IPv6 technologies that help their networks scale. IPv6 is expected to gradually replace IPv4, while existing in tandem today and in the foreseeable future.

A10 Networks will deliver multi-phase releases for IPv6 server load balancing features over the next 12 months. The first phase release will support IPv6 deployments in both transparent and gateway modes and is expected to be available over Q3 and Q4, 2007. Other features included in this release are IPv6 static route support, IPv6 Layer 4 server load balancing, complete IPv4 server load balancing, and complete server load balancing support for IPv6 including active/standby high availability. Several domestic and international customers are currently working with A10 to test IPv6 server load balancing with the AX Series.

"Enterprises and ISPs have come to A10 Networks, requesting high- performance application acceleration systems that can scale with the next- generation Internet," said Lee Chen, president and CEO of A10 Networks. "Leveraging our deep expertise in Layer 4-7 networking and working with our customers, we are developing advanced features within our AX Series for the industry's highest performance IPv4 and IPv6 server load balancing to reliably scale customers' applications into the future."

A10 Networks' AX Series helps enterprises and ISPs build secure, high availability application server farms. Key benefits within the AX Series include:
-- Revolutionary Advanced Core Operating System (ACOS) that leverages modern system architectures.
-- Tuned for multiple CPUs and multiple cores.
-- aRule policy editor allows for customization of features.
-- Improves user application response times and scales server farm capacity.
-- Reduces HTTP bandwidth requirements.
-- Industry's best SSL acceleration and L4-7 acceleration. Hardware-based SSL acceleration is included in every AX model.
-- Supports IPv4 and IPv6.
-- Industry standard Command Line Interface (CLI) and easy to use Graphical User Interface (GUI).
-- Carrier-grade hardware components.
-- High performance switch/route ASIC, SSL acceleration ASIC and A10's Flexible Traffic ASIC.
