Marine Grade Anti-Seize Protects Against Fresh or Salt Water

ROCKY HILL. Conn. (June 14, 2002) - Loctite Corporation has introduced an anti-seize lubricant that protects assemblies exposed to high humidity conditions or direct contact with fresh or salt water. LoctiteŽ Marine Grade Anti-Seize Lubricant reduces wear and protects against galling and corrosion in high-pressure applications, and resists wash-out from water spray.

Marine Grade Anti-Seize is ideal for protecting a variety of fasteners and joints, or as a dressing for water pump gaskets and flanges in marine and other applications that require submerging.

"We developed Marine Grade Anti-Seize because there was a need for a high-quality anti-seize lubricant that could stand up to the conditions that are present in pulp and paper mills, water and waste treatment plants, and other high-humidity environments." says Mario Aguilar, MRO technical coordinator for Loctite. "In tests against similar products, it showed no characteristics of separation, it provided better wash-out resistance and most importantly, it had a lower torque coefficient."

While the Marine Grade Anti-Seize formulation has characteristics that make it ideal for wet and humid conditions, it also provides an excellent level of lubricity and galling protection.

Typical part applications include bolts, screws, studs, pipe joints, nuts, shafts, bushings, splines, chains and cables. Marine Grade was formulated to provide protection of these parts in pulp and paper mills, wastewater treatment plants and other aqueous operations where the presence of water can prevent traditional anti-seize compounds from adhering and protecting properly.

Since 1997 Loctite Corporation, headquartered in Dusseldorf, Germany, has been part of the Henkel Group.
