Analog Output Card (50 Hz) enhances DAQ system capabilities.

Press Release Summary:

Available for ADwin-Pro-II data acquisition system, PRO-II-Aout-1/16 features one 16-bit analog output that can update at 50 MHz rate as well as 16 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs. In addition to point by point output mode, on-board coprocessor and memory buffer allow generation of complex arbitrary waveforms or ramp signals independent of main system processor. Card provides synchronous operation of digital channels, both inputs and outputs, concurrently with analog output signals.

Original Press Release:

New 50MHz Analog Output Card for ADwin Pro-II DAQ Systems

Enabling Extremely High-Speed Applications

CHESTERLAND OH—CAS DataLoggers is pleased to announce the release of the new PRO-II-Aout-1/16 50MHz analog output card for the ADwin-Pro-II data acquisition system. This card features a single 16 bit analog output which can update at a 50 MHz rate along with 16 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs. In addition to a point by point output mode, an on-board coprocessor and memory buffer allows the generation of complex arbitrary waveforms or ramp signals independent of the main system processor.

The card provides synchronous operation of the digital channels, both the inputs and outputs, simultaneous with the analog output signals. This card is well suited to demanding applications such as scanning microscopy, Magneto Optical Traps (MOT), Quadrapole Ion Traps (QIT) or Quadrapole Ion Storage Traps (QUISTOR). In cases where users require more than 1 channel, multiple cards can run in a single system while running all output channels synchronized to each other.

The new card supports an arbitrary function mode enabling analog and digital data to be written directly to the outputs from a large memory buffer (256Mbyte). This can be done in a single shot mode or in a repeated controlled block mode. This block mode can be controlled by reading evaluating input channels.

The key advantage of ADwin systems are their tightly-coupled analog and digital inputs along with counters which provide extremely low-latency operation. The ADwin-Pro II Series utilizes a modular form factor with plug-in modules to allow up to 480 analog or digital inputs in a single chassis, along with a high-performance 300 MHz DSP processor and Ethernet communications interface. There are also a variety of other I/O options including CANbus, SSI, Profibus/Fieldbus, RS-232/485, and signal conditioner modules. This flexible system is available in full, half and quarter rack mainframes and either AC or DC powered versions.

The extraordinary speed of the Pro II system provides complex applications with a high data rate. In addition, the fast processor allows an intelligent pre-selection of relevant data, mathematical functions or digital channel filtering T11. All new Pro-II modules run on the Pro II bus automatically sync, allowing fully-synchronized time measurements with multiple modules without any special software effort.

The ADwin Pro II is available in a broad variety of robust housing for various applications, including as a desk system for the lab, a portable system for travel, or as a system for panel mounting. The 5-16 slots and the number of different modules are the ideal, flexible foundation for rapid real-time applications.
