Precision 90-Line Square Plane

December 2008, Peabody, Massachusetts: Pinpoint Laser Systems is introducing a Precision 90-Line Square Plane which is an enhanced version of the popular 90-Line Right Angle Beam Bender and configured for creating precise reference planes with the Microgage Alignment System. The 90-Line takes the laser reference beam from the Microgage and turns it precisely 90 degrees with full rotational capability to create a reference square plane that is ideal for squaring machinery, adjusting machine tools, positioning slides, and checking gantries. In addition, the 90-Line creates precise parallel lines for checking roller alignment, tracks, and mechanical guides.

This 90-Line kit comes with a precision 2-Axis Positioning Mount so that the 90-Line can be centered on the incoming laser reference beam. A compact digital receiver is also included for centering to 90-Line on the laser beam. When centered, the 90-Line can be rotated through a full turn so that the right-angle exiting laser beam defines a precise plane that is square to the incoming laser beam. This square plane of light is ideal for checking rolls, idlers, gantries, machine tools, large flanges, and similar assemblies.

The 90-Line is built with a durable housing for holding precision optical elements that redirect the laser beam. The exiting laser is square to the incoming beam within 0.0006 degrees, or equivalent to 0.001 inch, over a distance of 8 feet. The housing has several adjustments, allowing the square exiting beam to rotate through a full plane. The 90-Line is machined from a solid, aluminum block and is protected with a hard, anodized coating. This product and other items for the Microgage Measuring System are used throughout industry for precision measuring and alignment.
