May 3, 2010 - Operated manually or pneumatically, Air-Tight Blast Gates utilize 2-part, self-sealing gasket assembly to completely isolate outside air, guaranteeing no air leakage across valve or into atmosphere. Units are manufactured in zinc plate or stainless steel in 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8 in. diameters and can be installed on any dust collection or vacuum system. Available with coil voltages from 24 Vac/dc to 120 Vac or 220 Vac, pneumatic valves operate off air pressures as low as 30 psi.

Truly "Air-Tight" Blast Gates Increase Worker Efficiency

Holyoke, MA, - Ruwac introduces a new line of truly "air-tight" blast gates operated manually or pneumatically that utilize a two part, self-sealing gasket assembly to completely isolate outside air, guaranteeing no air leakage across the valve or into the atmosphere. They are designed to withstand 16 HG" of negative pressure.

These blast gates are manufactured in zinc plate or stainless steel in 2", 3", 4", 6" and 8" diameter and can be installed on any dust collection or vacuum system. Pneumatic valves are available with coil voltages ranging from 24V AC/DC to 120V AC or 220 V AC and operate off air pressures as low as 30 Psi, with optimal performance requiring 70 Psi. Supplied as standard with straight ends, Ruwac's air-tight blast gates can also be made with flanged or rolled ends when required.

Blast gates are used in industrial dust extraction and kept in the closed position until the vacuum source is needed. Blast gates increase the efficiency of the vacuum system by closing off inactive segments thus increasing the vacuum pressure at other active areas. The average blast gate, whether manually or automatically activated, leaks air; thus, not completely preserving the vacuum suction for actively open vacuum ports. This creates less than desired vacuum pressure and makes picking up even the smallest particles more difficult.

Ruwac's new air-tight blast gates "Our in-house engineers design and build custom central vacuum systems to meet the individual needs of each customer. These new blast gates will really help our customers be more efficient. This is very exciting," comments Eric Potorski, Sales Director for Ruwac.

A rarity in the industry, Ruwac manufactures and designs their equipment in the United States from their ISO 9001 certified Holyoke, MA, facility. They have been doing so for well over 30 years. Ruwac's experience in portable and central vacuum systems satisfies customers across the U.S. and abroad.
