Casella USA Launch New Range of Personal Air Sampling Pumps

The Tuff series, a new range of personal air sampling pumps, has been launched by Casella CEL in the USA for use by occupational and industrial hygienists, heath and safety consultants, environmental monitoring consultants and any others seeking to meet OSHA and COSHH regulations.

The Tuff range uses the most up to date design technology including true volumetric flow control circuitry to give a wide flow range of 5ml/min to 4.5 l/min making it perfect for sampling of solvents, fumes, gases, asbestos, as well as dust and other general personal sampling. Two main flow rate versions are offered covering the ranges from 800 to 3000 ml/m in the Tuff 3 units and 800 to 4500 ml/m in the Tuff 4 models.

A slim line LCD display on the top of the sampling pump keeps the user informed of all the necessary warnings and status during a run. These include displays of flow rate, volume sampled, elapsed sample time, ambient temperature, current operating mode and program details, all updated in real-time depending on model in the range.

Power for the Tuff pumps is provided by one of 2 optional rechargeable NiMH battery packs. The user can choose the regular battery pack when not planning on long runs or the enhanced battery pack where greater sampling life is needed. Both battery packs are recharged in a short time in the easy drop in charger base. A universal power supply ensures that the Tuff pumps can be used anywhere in the world.

The three main models in the range - Tuff Standard, Tuff Plus and Tuff Pro - are light and compact, tamperproof with audio and visual alert alarms. They feature simple manual start and stop, fixed duration programmable run-time, delayed start and stop, multi-language firmware and the popular Pump Manager application software for the top of the range Pro models. Tuff Plus models are even upgradeable to Tuff Pro versions if required to gain the extra benefits of the Pro units. A clever "fuel gauge" display in the Pro pump shows the true remaining battery life left thereby ensuring that the measurement will be completed as planned.

Additionally, the advanced programmable Tuff Pro incorporates a 100-event automatic data logging function, infrared wireless downloading, and advanced sample scheduling programs for the calculation of TWA values.

Accessories include simple to use drop-in chargers in single and three way configuration, universal charger power supplies and a low flow adapter assembly for sampling for gases or vapors.

All Tuff models comply with NIOSH 0600, EN1232 and MDHS 14/3 methods.
