Dometic Introduces New Dual-Blower Package Air Conditioning Unit for Marine Industry

New Space-Saving Design Provides Smaller Footprint, Easier Installation and Lower Cost

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. - December 11, 2006 - New from Dometic Environmental Corporation for 2007 is a space-saving 30,000 BTU self-contained marine air conditioning unit with dual evaporator/blower assemblies.

The new SVCD30, marketed under the Marine Air brand, is a seawater-cooled framed package unit with a single 30,000 BTU compressor/condenser and dual 16,000 BTU evaporator/blower assemblies mounted back-to-back on a single chassis. It has been introduced by Dometic to provide a high-capacity self-contained package for special applications where space is limited. Return air is drawn from one or two compartments across both evaporator coils, and discharge air is ducted to two or more spaces.

The new Marine Air unit is designed and built for the marine environment with a stainless-steel chassis and Heresite coating for exposed components, providing extra corrosion resistance.

"This innovative new design provides more capacity, less space and lower cost than two separate 16,000 BTU self-contained units," said Charlie Barefoot, vice president of engineering for Dometic Environmental Corporation. "It also provides easier and faster installation of seawater cooling lines."

Like all Dometic products, the SVCD30 is backed by industry-leading quality and warranty programs, and a worldwide network of factory-trained service dealers.
