Spraying Systems Co. Introduces an Exclusive Index Metering Feature for Air Atomizing Nozzles at the National Design Engineering Show

WHEATON, IL (February 23, 2004) Spraying Systems Co. has introduced an exclusive index metering adjustment to their 1/4JAU Automatic Air Atomizing Nozzle that delivers increased accuracy and repeatability. Now, with a few simple clicks of the indexing liquid metering adjustment, it is possible to gain precise and stable adjustments to the flow rate that can be easily repeated. The 1/4JAUMCO is well suited for spraying high-viscous liquids in coating and lubricating applications.

Simply by turning the metering knob, users have the flexibility to control the percentage of total flow in 5% increments from zero to 100%, said Frank Bramsen, Vice President of Spraying Systems Co. Industrial Markets Division. This feature is particularly useful in manifold situations, where you may need to make adjustments on individual nozzles for improved overall performance.

The 1/4JAUMCO Air Atomizing Nozzle is a compact precision nozzle that produces fine spray at low pressures by mixing compressed air with liquid. It is available in a wide variety of spray set-ups with the patent-pending Drip Free" design that provides a liquid-tight seal for the shut-off needle, stopping the flow quickly and completely. The nozzle also features an internal air cylinder for controlled on-off operation up to 180 cycles per minute. The on-off cycle interrupts only the liquid portions of the spray. To minimize clogging, the design includes a clean-out needle.

A conversion kit is available to add the indexing liquid metering adjustment to most current 1/4JAU air atomizing nozzles. Both the 1/4JAUMCO and conversion kit are available in two materials of construction: general purpose version for non-corrosive liquids and applications and the 316SS version for corrosive liquids and applications. All wetted parts are 316 stainless steel and FDA-compliant VITON and TEFLON.

The 1/4JAUMCO automatic air atomizing nozzle with the exclusive index metering feature will be introduced at the National Design Engineering Show, February 23 - 26 at the Spraying Systems Co. Booth 2824. Spraying Systems Co. sales engineers will provide free application evaluations for the index metering feature.
