Avery Weigh-Tronix Grain Cart Weighing System Provides Efficient Data Collection Capabilities, Improving Harvest Operations

Fairmont, MN-Avery Weigh-Tronix introduces the Field Foreman grain cart software, a unique program featuring powerful data collection and export capabilities tailored to grain cart applications. Field Foreman software was specifically developed for the user-friendly model 3060 touch screen indicator. Avery Weigh-Tronix's 3060 indicator easily interfaces with virtually any brand of load cell or weigh bar. With the ability to track and save all field data, harvest notes and delivery information, the Field Foreman software ensures accurate data collection-improving production performance and assisting in making operation decisions to drive farming profitability.

Enhanced with the optional Field Linx software, a windows-based PC program, Field Foreman software operators can easily manage data from multiple 3060 indicators from one PC, eliminating redundant data entry and management. Data can quickly be transferred from the Field Foreman/3060 Indicator to the Field Linx software via USB thumb drive. Additionally, Field Linx software easily translates data into custom reports, with the option to export data to Excel or XML formats for use in other PC applications.

Together, the Field Foreman and Field Linx software helps streamline the process to establish APH (Average Production History) and provides additional proof of yields documentation for Federal Crop Insurance. Instead of creating a printout for each load, users can download data from Field Foreman into Field Linx and print reports that indicate the field total with a record of each individual load. This creates an accurate system to track APH and field performance, producing an instant record at the conclusion of harvest and eliminating the need to wait until the grain is hauled and weighed at the end user to establish production numbers for the year. Further, if a producer needs to file a claim with Federal Crop Insurance, the Field Foreman records assist in the process of organizing and allocating scale tickets and settlement statements to fields.

A grain cart weighing system also prevents overloading of delivery trucks which, in turn, eliminates the risk of overload fines. With road limit regulation enforcement getting tighter, it is important for operators to track a truck's contents and gross weight. Prior to harvest, operators can enter tare and target gross weights of each delivery truck to ensure the truck's weight remains within the legal gross weight. The Field Foreman software then indicates when the truck has reached capacity. Truck tickets can also be quickly printed for on-hand proof of loads. Additionally, Field Foreman can be set up to send an output signal that can control the auger wagon's gate to cut off the flow of grain when the target is met.

Additional features of the Field Foreman grain cart software include:
  • Simple entry of field, grain type, hybrid, delivery truck and location data
  • Analyze yield performance per hybrid/test plot through customized detailed field reports
  • Track where grain is delivered by selecting from a list of user-defined delivery locations
  • Verify and calibrate combine yield monitor
