Model PHY1066 includes programmable pre-emphasis designed for 10 Gbps active copper cable applications. Fitting inside XFP or SFP+ MSA connector, 5 x 5 mm, low-latency IC transmits up to 20 m across 24 AWG twin-axial copper cable, and can be used up to 10 m across 30 AWG cable. It also has loss of signal and loss of lock alarms for monitoring host controller. Unit can be accessed via selectable 2-wire or SPI microcontroller interface.

PHY1066 Active Equalizer and Retiming Driver with Pre-Emphasis
The PHY1066 is an active equalizer and retiming driver with programmable pre-emphasis designed for 10Gbps active copper cable applications.
The low latency IC is also ideal for use in delay critical applications and the small BGA package fits inside an XFP or SFP+ MSA connector.
The PHY1066 actively equalizes and optimizes itself to its surrounding environment; whether it is a change in temperature or if the cable is moved.
Tested up to 20 meters across 24AWG twin-ax copper cable, it can also be used up to 10 meters across 30AWG.
Loss of signal and loss of lock alarms provide additional monitoring to the host controller. Accessing the PHY1066 is via the selectable 2-wire or SPI microcontroller interface. Integrated PRBS and BERT can be integrated as part of the set-up and test routine, and can also be used in the lab.
