UV Resistant Organic Coating Eliminates Corrosion Costs.
Cortec® Corporation has developed a unique, organic, UV resistant, water-based acrylic coating, VpCI(TM)-386, that provides superior corrosion protection for equipment, structures, and maintenance needs. VpCI(TM)-386 has been formulated to use in virtually any environmental condition. It's appropriate for direct metal applications and can be used as a single coat system or in conjunction with other primers and topcoats. This remarkable coating can significantly reduce and even eliminate the costs associated with corrosion in many plants.
VpCI(TM)-386 forms a fast-drying, thixotropic coating that is resistant to sagging or running, forming a tough, non-flammable protective barrier against corrosive elements. This dry-to-touch film offers extended corrosion protection in outdoor or indoor conditions. VpCI(TM)-386 coating is UV resistant and thermally stable. It gives outstanding outdoor corrosion protection without cracking or chipping with prolonged exposure to sunlight. The coating can provide long-term protection for carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, and copper.
VpCI(TM)-386 is a non-toxic, environmentally friendly, low VOC coating system, based on organic corrosion inhibitors. Cortec's proprietary organic vapor phase corrosion inhibitors provide superior corrosion protection when tested against pigments and metal oxides based coatings. Applied, VpCI(TM)-386 forms a protective film that is absorbed onto the metal surface, thus preventing corrosion.
This coating is available as VpCI(TM)-386, VpCI(TM)-386 Gold, and VpCI(TM)-386 Aluminum. VpCI(TM)-386 Aluminum has exceptionally good anti-abrasion qualities.
