Bewator Launches a New Generation of Bewator Entro Access Control System
Access Security specialist, Bewator has launched, Entro 5, the next generation of its popular Entro access control system. Since the first version of the Bewator Entro system was launched in 1997, 5,000 systems have been installed, securing more than 50,000 doors worldwide.
Bewator Entro was developed with installation and user friendliness in mind, without compromising on functionality and performance. This has lead to the system becoming the solution of choice for securing a wide range of developments, from retail outlets and public buildings to residential properties and recreational facilities.
Entro 5 is the latest version of the Bewator Entro system, and offers a number of new functionalities. A key feature is the segment controller, which has been redesigned to operate as a stand alone system, without needing to connect to a PC. This makes the controller less vulnerable to tampering, and simplifies system servicing and extensions. Other improvements include door controllers, which have been updated to include an integrated status display, again simplifying maintenance and fault finding, making installation and operation of the system much easier.
Other new features include:

- The support of dynamic IP-addresses (DHCP)
- Multiple user database
- Upgrade of software in the door controllers directly from the PC

All versions of the Entro system are backwards compatible, and allow for future expansion and upgrades, making Entro a cost effective long-term security solution. End users can build up from a single door lock to a system with over 500 doors and 20,000 cards.
The Entro’s open network system allows easy integration with other third party systems, without needing special interfacing equipment. The system also has roll call and anti-passback functions used to control who is present in a determined area, which is extremely useful for roll calls and disaster management.
