Meggitt Sensing Systems Releases Endevco® Model 8530B Miniature High-Sensitivity Absolute Pressure Transducer

San Juan Capistrano, California, USA - Meggitt Sensing Systems, a Meggitt group division, has announced the release of the Endevco® model 8530B series, a family of miniature, high sensitivity absolute piezoresistive pressure transducers, offering high-output measurement capabilities with excellent linearity (even at 3x over-range) and thermal transient stability in a highly compact (3.86 mm face diameter) and lightweight (2.3 grams) package.

Offered in ranges of 200, 500 and 1000 psia with 300 mV full scale output and high resonant frequencies of 750 kHz (200 psia) and 1000 kHz (500 and 1000 psia), the Endevco® model 8530B series features an active four-arm strain gage bridge, diffused into a sculpted silicon diaphragm for maximum sensitivity and wideband frequency response. The volume behind the diaphragm is both evacuated and glass sealed to provide an absolute pressure reference. The transducers also feature self-contained full hybrid temperature compensation, providing stable performance over a temperature range of -18°C to +93°C (0°F to +200°F).

Endevco® model 8530B transducers are rugged to 20,000 g shock and minimum 4X burst pressure, and offer non-linearity, non-repeatability and pressure hysteresis errors of less than 0.50% FSO (200 and 500 psia versions) and 1% FSO (1000 psia version), making them some of the industry's most accurate pressure transducers on the market today. Recommended accessories for use with this series include the model 136 three-channel signal conditioner, model 4430A signal conditioner, or model 4990A (Oasis), as signal conditioner and power supply, all available from Meggitt Sensing Systems.

The Endevco® model 8530B series comes standard with a 10-32 UNF-2A mounting thread (with optional metric M5X0.8 mounting thread available on special order) and integral cable. In addition to custom cable lengths, units are available with optional integral four-pin connector (M37) with a detachable cable. With their rugged design and exceptional performance characteristics, the Endevco® 8530B series is ideal for hydraulic and pneumatic pressure measurements, automotive airbag testing and transmission testing applications.
