VSM CK918X COMPACTGRAIN Available in Expanded Grit Ranges
ST. LOUIS-VSM'S CK918X COMPACTGRAIN abrasives are now available in 800, 1000, and 1200 grits. The newly expanded grits work best in applications requiring the finest of finishes.
CK918X COMPACTGRAIN is composed of Silicon Carbide grains that provide a consistently low Ra finish leaving a bright shine on the work piece. This shine and low surface roughness is achieved through the inherent characteristics of the Silicon Carbide grains.
Silicon Carbide grains are much sharper than Aluminum Oxide grains creating very narrow scratches, which in turn provides for a brighter finish on the part. The finish of CK918X mimics that of natural cork but has exceptionally longer life because of the complex resin bond structure.
CK918X is an excellent polishing tool for medium to hard metals as well as the best choice for polishing pre-chrome finishes. CK918X performs well in centerless and flat polishing applications. It is good for polishing clutch plates, hydraulic rams, cylinders and tubing. Grits available are: 400, 600, 800, 1000, and removal applications.
