APC Introduces NetShelter® AV Enclosures and Accessories for Professional AV Environments

West Kingston, RI, - APC by Schneider Electric, a global leader in integrated critical power and cooling services, today announced the NetShelter® AV Enclosures and accessories, the newest products in APC's enclosure and cooling product lines. Designed with unique features dedicated to meet the specific needs of the professional AV industry, the NetShelterAV Enclosure builds off the foundation of the best-selling IT-based NetShelterSX Enclosure by offering many of the same standard features and toolless mounting accessories.

"AV professionals face very specific requirements from their AV equipment, so we've designed the NetShelter AV Enclosures to meet the requirements often requested by AV customers," said Dave Johnson, senior vice president, Home & Business Networks, APC. "The new NetShelter AV Enclosures offer many important features standard out-of-the-box for an easy and low cost installation, making this ideal for AV professionals."

New features in the NetShelter AV Enclosures emphasize the importance of flexibility for the ever-changing AV environments, with additions such as cable access roof with conduit knockouts and easily adjustable threaded rails. The NetShelter AV Enclosures feature pre-installed vertical zero-U accessory channels in the rear of the enclosure that allow users to toollessly mount busbars, rack power distribution units and cable management accessories. Half-height side panels for easy and safe handling, and perforated, lockable front and rear doors, are standard components of the enclosure. Each enclosure has pre-installed leveling feet & castors, and integrated baying brackets into the frame for easy positioning in a row.

To address the ever increasing equipment heat loads, APC introduces new cooling accessories to improve ventilation and keep equipment running cool. Horizontal mount fans featuring optional thermal controls offer assisted ventilation in tight spaces. Roof mount fans and rear-mount, variable-speed fan doors provide a higher level of thermal assistance for larger applications. Closet level cooling units are also available for addressing thermal issues for the entire room.

APC's new NetShelter AV Enclosures are built to fit the size requirements of the AV industry and available in the following dimensions, 42 & 24U x 24" W (600mm) x 32" D (825mm) enclosures. Also available is a 42U enclosure without front and rear doors, side panels, and roof. The roof has four removable conduit access panels with holes varying in size, and two cable access slots with brush strips for air containment. Two spring-loaded pins allow for easy roof removal and installation with cables in place. The 10/32 threaded vertical mounting rails easily adjust in ¼ inch increments for accurate alignment, while numbered U positions and copper busbar attachment points further simplify set-up. The enclosures are UL listed and all components are inherently grounded to the frame. Additional exterior grounding attachments are available in 4 points at the top and bottom, front and rear of the frame. The enclosure has a Static Load Capacity of 3,000 lb.

Additional related products and accessories available that complement the NetShelter AV Enclosure include AV power filters, switched or basic rack power distribution units, rack cooling and cable management accessories, airflow management blanking panels and hardware kits. The rack cooling accessories provide consistent cooling, while constantly monitoring the temperature to protect sensitive AV equipment.

APC's popular NetShelter Enclosure line is compatible with other APC equipment and was specifically designed to utilize the system approach with power and cooling solutions, while integrating seamlessly with APC InfraStruxure® software management products to provide the same complete IT infrastructure support system, well known by APC, in an AV environment.

The new NetShelter AV Enclosures are now available exclusively to dealers and offers an innovative and adaptable option for professional AV needs. For more information about APC's NetShelter AV Enclosures and accessories, visit www.apc.com and www.apcav.com or call 800-877-4080.
