MTI Electronics Adds Additional AOI Test Equipment
MTI Electronics has added an additional Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) system to its SMT production for full defect coverage at high resolution for printed circuit board production.
This additional AOI equipment also features advanced 5 megapixel color camera technology and Fusion Lighting™, image processing technology which integrates several techniques, including color inspection, normalized correlation and rule-based algorithms, provides high-speed PCB inspection for complete inspection coverage. With one top down viewing camera and four side viewing cameras, it inspects solder joints and verifies correct part assembly.
The new AOI system performs fast, repeatable, and accurate inspections, to find and identify defects before in-circuit or final testing, reduce production costs, and improve quality. “The additional AOI equipment will enhance production capabilities and is again consistent with our philosophy of investing in technology that adds value to our customer’s products” said Greg Martinek, President of MTI Electronics.
