December 2, 2011 - Enabling automated inspection of THT assemblies with up to 80 mm component height, OptiCon THT-Line can be utilized in production process either per manual feeding or as in-line system utilizing roller conveyor transport system. PCB remains in manufacturing specific carrier during inspection process. With integrated multispectral camera, inspection module supports test speeds up to 60 cm²/s. Test program generation and PCB inspection are controlled via OptiCon PILOT software.

New AOI System for THT Components


GOEPEL electronic announces the successful development of a new system for Automated Optical Inspection in the THT production technology. The OptiCon THT-Line has been developed specifically for inspection of electronic assemblies in a transport carrier, offering an impressive price-performance-ratio.

"Despite all prophecies, the THT production technology is still present in manufacturing of mounted PCBs. With the OptiCon THT-Line we offer a system dealing exclusively with quality assurance in this process step," says Jens Kokott, GOEPEL electronic's Senior Manager AOI/AXI Systems.

OptiCon THT-Line enables the automated inspection of THT assemblies with up to 80mm component height. It can be utilised in the production process either per manual feeding or as an in-line system utilising a roller conveyor transport system. The PCB remains in the manufacturing specific carrier during the inspection process reducing handling time. The system's main component is the well-proven inspection module of the OptiCon AOI system series with integrated multispectral camera, enabling test speeds up to 60cm²/s.

Test program generation and PCB inspection are controlled by the software package OptiCon PILOT. For efficient system utilisation a repair station software, statistic fault evaluation as well as offline programming software modules are available. Flexible data interfaces provide the opportunity to communicate with external MES and quality management systems.
