Boasting an EtherCAT Interface, Sanyo Denki's New SANMOTION R Servo Amplifier Boosts Motion Control Productivity

Torrance, CA - Sanyo Denki America, Inc. has added a high-speed EtherCAT Interface Model to its proven line of SANMOTION R high performance AC Servo Amplifiers. The SANMOTION R Amplifier with EtherCAT allows for 100Mbps communication and increased motion control speeds.

Newly developed highly versatile and multi-functional software further enhances the performance of this amplifier. To aid in application development, a motion simulation function is included in the software. The simulation runs the same codes as the actual SANMOTION R, allowing the amplifier to go directly from simulation to live usage without re-programming.

The SANMOTION R does not require an interface board or any additional hardware; it is simply connected with Ethernet cables to the Ethernet port of a PC. Only software modifications are necessary with application changes.

Additional features include:

Improved and highly sophisticated control - the SANMOTION R offers a 50% reduction in position settling time (compared to conventional Sanyo Denki models), and advanced safety functions when combined with Sanyo Denki recommended controllers.

EtherCAT Communication - The ability to place both input and output data in the same data frame area decreases communication cycle time by 50%.

The SANMOTION R includes 2 inputs and 2 outputs, output capacities of 15A, 30A and 50A and an input voltage of AC200V (three phase/single phase). The amplifier is compatible with AC Servo motors of up to 1.5 kw. Protocol is CANOpen over EtherCAT (CoE). It is ideal for chip mounter, semiconductor manufacturing machine and machine tools applications, and compatible with most linear motors and actuators.
