Yaskawa's J7 AC Drive, Economical, Compact Performer



NEW BERLIN, WIS., May 23, 2003 - - Yaskawa's J7 AC drive, an ideal choice whenever excellent performance, low cost, and small size are required, provides Volts/Hertz control and a full range of features for a wide variety of applications.

Offering excellent performance in general purpose speed control operations, the compact J7 is ideal for equipment control in applications including conveyors, grinders, centrifuges, pumps, fans and blowers used in material handling, packaging, food processing and commercial laundry.

The drive's digital operator includes a 3-digit LED status display and an analog speed potentiometer. Four standard multifunction inputs can be programmed to access nine preset speeds. Digital programming covers 79 parameters, providing the flexibility necessary for diverse applications.

The J7 features an analog input, a multifunction output and an analog output as standard. An optional RS-485 Modbus RTU serial communication port is available with up to 32 nodes on a single network.

Yaskawa's DriveWizard
Yaskawa's innovative DriveWizard Software, available as a J7 option, provides an effective tool for online and offline configuration, monitoring and archiving to a personal data assistant (PDA) or PC.

The new J7 is simple to install and set up, with easy access to operating constants via the Digital Operator's LED readouts. Operating conditions including output frequency and current are also monitored through the Digital Operator.

The drive features DC injection braking, critical frequency rejection, momentary power loss override, speed search, overtorque detection, multi-step speed operation and accel/decel time selection.

Protective functions include motor overload, overheat, overcurrent, under-current, phase loss and ground fault.

The J7 AC drive is globally compatible, conforming to CE, UL and CUL requirements. It is available in open chassis models from 1/8 to 5 HP at 230 VAC and 1/2 to 5 HP at 460 VAC.
