Image Scanner offers magnetic stripe reader option.

Carson, CA - May 6, 2002 - MagTek, an internationally known manufacturer of MICR check readers and magnetic stripe card readers, has added an optional magnetic stripe reader (MSR) to their MICRImage, a highly accurate MICR check reader and image
scanner specifically designed for electronic check conversion at the point-of-sale (POS).
MICRImage with MSR enables both card-based transactions and check conversion within one device for single-lane and multi- lane POS environments. By delivering multiple functions in a single device, MICRImage greatly simplifies connectivity,
requiring only one interface port at the POS terminal or cash register.
The MICRImage's MSR supports the ISO and AAMVA formats, and can enhance check conversion applications by allowing the driver's license information to be read and captured. Additionally, the MSR's ergonomic design provides visual cues for card swipe
orientation, resulting in faster training of cashiers at the POS.
