Lead Assemblies handle high voltages.

April 23, 2002 - Hi/Mate 12 gauge contact lead assemblies for MIL-C-38999 Series I, III, and IV connectors withstand up to 13.5 kVdc, commonly found in densely packaged, high-voltage power supplies, CRTs, and TWTs. Assemblies are terminated with Hi Voltage FEP cables. Insertion and removal procedures use same tools as standard 38999 connector. Lead assemblies are electrically isolated from connector shell and can be mixed with signal contacts and fiber-optic lines.

Reynolds Industries Offers New High Voltage Contact Lead Assemblies For MIL-C-38999 Connector Applications

LOS ANGELES, California...Reynolds Industries, a leading ISO 9001 manufacturer of hi-rel aerospace/defense interconnection products since 1948, is now introducing a line of #12 gauge, rear release high voltage contact lead assemblies for MIL-C-38999 Series I, III, and IV connectors. Reynolds' Hi/Mate contacts are miniature high voltage electrical contact assemblies and are supplied terminated with Reynolds' Hi Voltage FEP cables for added factory reliability. The insertion and removal procedures of these contact lead assemblies utilize the same tools as any standard #12 38999 series connector contact.

When installed in standard MIL-C-38999 circular connectors, these Hi/Mate contact lead assemblies withstand DC voltages of up to 13.5 KVDC which are commonly found in densely packaged high voltage power supplies, cathode ray tubes and TWTs. They are electrically isolated from the connector shell and are fully capable of being mixed with signal voltage contacts and fiber optic lines. Hi/Mate contact lead assemblies are extremely flexible and highly reliable when exposed to wide temperature extremes and rapid altitude changes. Temperature range is –55 deg C to +125 deg C and operating pressure is from sea level to 70,000 feet.

Other benefits of Reynolds' Hi/Mate contact lead assemblies are that they allow the use of commercial off-the-shelf connectors (COTS) to carry high, DC voltages. Using COTS connectors provides an economical advantage over specialized high voltage connectors. The small size of Hi/Mate contact lead assemblies provide weight and space savings benefits. Additionally, no potting or adhesives are required.
