Quaker Leverages Knowledge of Emulsion and Hydraulic Application Technology to Create Universal Longwall Mining Fluid
Las Vegas, March 19, 2002-Quaker Chemical Corporation (NYSE: KWR) will introduce its universal longwall mining fluid, QUINTOLUBRIC 814-01, to the U.S. market at the 2002 International Fluid Power Exposition. The company's technologically advantaged solutions will be featured in Booth # S-14170.
QUINTOLUBRIC 814-01 is a semi-synthetic micro-emulsion that provides excellent stability, bioresistance and corrosion prevention with low applied costs. Approved for use by major global equipment builders, the product is designed for use in longwall roof support equipment.
Creation of this water-based hydraulic fluid represents the culmination of two core competencies for Quaker-a fundamental understanding of emulsion chemistry and an in-depth knowledge of hydraulic application technology. QUINTOLUBRIC 814-01 a semi-synthetic micro-emulsion that controls the size of lubricant molecules within the water-based formulation, allowing for a more consistent delivery of lubrication to pumps and valves throughout the hydraulic application. It has a longer fluid life, superior hydraulic performance and better filterability than traditional oil-emulsion fluids.
With over 15 years of experience in longwall hydraulics, Quaker Chemical Corporation is the technical innovator in the field of roof support fluids including the first biodegradable fluid and the first true-solution synthetic fluid. Quaker hydraulic fluids are approved by all major longwall manufacturers including Joy, DBT and Saartech and by mining safety agencies around the world.
