Universal Lighting Technologies Expands HID Pulse Start Line to Include Multi-5(TM) Ballasts and 277-Volt Reactors

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 20, 2002) - Universal Lighting Technologies, a leading manufacturer of electronic and magnetic ballasts, expands its HID (high intensity discharge) Multi-5(TM) ballasts to include its pulse start family.

The Multi-5(TM) ballast adds a 480-volt tap in addition to the industry-standard quad ballast, which is capable of 120, 208, 240, and 277 volts. The expanded Multi-5(TM) line will include offerings for:

* Pulse Start: 175-, 200-, 250-, 320-, 350-, 400- and 750-watt models.

"The Multi-5(TM) offers multiple benefits for contractors and distributors in that it is energy-efficient and reduces inventory required by stocking one innovative ballast instead of two. The Multi-5(TM) ballast also ensures that you have the right ballast for the right application," explained Bill Brosius, HID product director.

The latest addition also includes a reactor product family for 277-volt applications operating 175-400 watt pulse start lamps. The new 277-volt reactor provides increased energy savings over
CWA pulse start systems.

Indoor/outdoor applications for the Multi-5(TM) ballast include large retail stores, sports arenas, parking lots, roadways and other similar environments.

For more information about the Multi-5(TM) ballast, fax your request to (615) 316-5146 or visit the Web site at www.universalballast.com.
