GRANVILLE, Ohio (October 2, 2009) - New Acrylic Washington PostLiteŽ LED luminaires from Holophane combine the visual appeal of a historic looking fixture with the performance and environmental benefits provided by modern LED technology. The decorative postop luminaires feature a new housing design with dedicated heat sink for LED thermal management and maximum life.
Washington PostLite LED luminaires are designed for use with existing Holophane acrylic globes and pole locations to reduce purchase and installation costs. A low glare, injection-molded optical system offers asymmetric and symmetric distribution for design flexibility and is optimized to meet Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) RP8 street lighting recommended practice.
The finned aluminum housing acts as a dedicated heat sink, with the metalized reflector or "lily" providing the main beam. The LED driver has a rated life of 50,000 hours with maintenance eased by an access door for the electronic driver and photocell receptacle.

Acrylic Washington PostLite LED luminaires passed the 1,000 hour salt test per ASTM B-1117, making them applicable for seaside locations. They have an IP65 rating, with the116-watt luminaire UL listed for a 30ēC ambient temperature and the 58-watt unit listed for a 40ēC ambient. The fixtures, which feature a polyester powder paint finish, are available with a variety of trims, colors, finials and accessories.
