Power MOSFET Driver operates reliably from -55 to +225°C.

October 6, 2009 - Suited for driving MOSFETs in DC-DC converters and electric motor control applications, HYPERION features typical on-resistance of 1 W. High- and low-side unit can drive up to 1 nF loads with 40 nsec propagation delay and 15 nsec transition time at 200°C. Adaptive non-overlap circuitry reduces switching losses by preventing simultaneous conduction when used in MOSFET drive applications. High-side floating driver is bootstrapped and can accommodate voltages as high as 35 V.

CISSOID Introduces HYPERION, A High Temperature Driver for Power MOSFETs in DC-DC Converters and Electric Motor Control

Mont-Saint-Guibert, Belgium - September, 2009 - CISSOID, a leader in high temperature semiconductor solutions, has unveiled HYPERION, a high-side and low-side driver that operates reliably from -55°C up to +225°C. HYPERION is suitable for driving MOSFETs in DC-DC converters and for half-bridge driver designs in electric motor control applications and power inverters.

With a typical on-resistance of 1 Ohm, both high-side and low-side can drive up to 1 nF loads with a 40 ns propagation delay and 15 ns transition time at 200°C. Internal, adaptive non-overlap circuitry further reduces switching losses by preventing simultaneous conduction when used in MOSFET drive applications. The high-side floating driver is bootstrapped and can accommodate voltages as high as 35V on the bootstrap node.

An under-voltage lockout function holds the high-side switch off until the driver has sufficient voltage for proper operation. A crowbar input turns on the low-side driver independently of the input signal state, and a low-side disable pin allows operation in non-synchronous mode. A shut-down pin turns off both the high-side and the low-side drivers.

HYPERION as a driver in a DC-DC converter application

HYPERION further enhances the high temperature product portfolio of CISSOID and it confirms the company's continued focus on high temperature DC-DC converters, electric motor drivers and inverters, especially for the transportation industry (electric and hybrid cars, train, aeronautics) and oil & gas applications.

HYPERION is available immediately for sampling and evaluation in Ceramic DIL28 package. Pricing for CHT-HYPERION starts at $250.53 up to 200 units. For more information, visit www.cissoid.com or contact the company's representatives.
