Newark, Delaware (September, 2009) - Pointstone Software, LLC. today announced the immediate availability of Total Privacy 5.8, a utility product for the Windows operating system. Total Privacy is a full-featured product that protects your privacy completely.
This newest version of the acclaimed privacy software now protects the Windows 7 operating system environment and removes traces of personal information from the Windows environment and all of the latest internet browsers such as FireFox 3.5 and Opera 10.
Total Privacy removes the history from your Internet surfing and removes all temporary files, cookies, graphics, and even the index.dat file. The program supports all major Web browsers including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape, Mozilla, Opera, and AOL. Beyond that, it can also eliminate all traces of conversations that occur through "instant messages". It even eliminates the records of any file transfers. Supported instant messaging clients include ICQ, AIM, Yahoo, and MSN Messenger.
Total Privacy 5.8 cleans "cookies", but it gives you the option to keep certain cookies from being removed. In this way you can keep the cookies that give you personalized content, log you in to sites, and so on. The program even lets you select different cookies for each of the supported Web browsers.
Beyond Web content, Total Privacy can also remove data from a wide range of other areas under Windows including, run history, recent documents, the Windows paging file, temporary folder, Media Player history, Microsoft Office, Outlook Express, and much more. Total Privacy can even wipe the free space available on your computer to prevent previously deleted files from being recovered.
To make things easier you can create "profiles" that will clean your system either at a specific time, or based on an event, like each time your browser closes. You can maintain different profiles if you wish. Total Privacy also supports over 450 popular third-party applications that help remove the "tracks" left by other programs on your computer.
