USB stick compatibility and USB cable download aid in data transfer, while OptiTest one-touch testing provides ease-of-use. Transreflective color display displays results clearly, even under extreme sunlight. Unit is available with power meter, visual fault locator and video inspection probe options.

Corning Cable Systems Introduces the OV-Mini OTDR for Flexibility in Testing


SEPTEMBER 16, 2009 -- HICKORY, N.C. - Corning Cable Systems LLC, part of Corning Incorporated's (NYSE:GLW) Telecommunications segment, introduces its new OV-Mini Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), a rugged, handheld and lightweight solution for testing and troubleshooting fiber optic networks.

Corning Cable Systems' handheld OV-Mini OTDR covers the full range of short-haul OTDR testing applications. The lightweight and rugged OV-Mini provides operators the flexibility to test single-mode and 50 micron/62.5 micron multimode systems in a single unit. USB stick compatibility and USB cable download make data transfer easy, while OptiTest one-touch testing provides ease-of-use. The OV-Mini has a transreflective color display for clear results, even under extreme sunlight.

The OV-Mini is available with power meter, visual fault locator (VFL) and video inspection probe options. Available kits include a link-loss certification kit and a contractor combination kit that includes a fusion splicer.
