Available in 6 models in sizes ranging from 2.36 x 2.17 x 1.02 in. to 4.63 x 3.54 x 2.01 in., 1550 family enclosures are offered in standard and watertight versions. Watertight units feature separate compressible self-adhesive gasket that, when fitted between lid and base, provides dust and water sealing to IP66. Available with natural or black epoxy powder coated finish, customizable thin-wall enclosures can be drilled and punched to accept cables, switches, and indicators as required.
New Family of General Purpose and IP66 Small Die-Cast Aluminium Enclosures
Hammond Manufacturing has launched the initial six sizes in the new 1550 family, a range of industry standard sizes small die-cast aluminium enclosures that provide robust mechanical protection and good EMC attenuation levels, making them suitable for a use in a wide variety of applications. The full range will consist of sixteen sizes, all of which will be available by the end of 2009. Available with a natural or black epoxy powder coated finish, the units are supplied in two versions, standard and watertight. The watertight units are supplied with a separate compressible self-adhesive gasket that, when fitted between the lid and the base, provides dust and water sealing to IP66, enabling them to be used in both benign and hostile environments.
The thin wall aluminium enclosures have high impact strength but are also easily drilled and punched to accept cables, switches and indicators as required. The initially available sizes range from 2.36" x 2.17" x 1.02" (60 x 55 x 26mm) to 4.63" x 3.54" x 2.01" (115 x 90 x 51mm); the largest size in the family, to be introduced later in the year, will be 10.83" x 6.89" x 2.56" (275 x 175 x 65mm). All units can be supplied factory modified with machining and silk screening to the user's specification; AutoCAD and PDF dimensioned drawings can be downloaded from www.hammondmfg.com.
