Ferraz Shawmut Introduces a New Load Break Switch - The 'FSLBS'

NEWBURYPORT, Mass. (August 26, 2009) - The new UL 508-listed FSLBS, an industrial-grade load break switch from Ferraz Shawmut provides panel builders and OEMs increased versatility, modularity and savings in making or breaking loads up to 600V. The IEC compliant technology is available in 16A, 25A, 40A, 63A and 80A sizes and is suitable as a motor disconnect for up to 40HP.

The FSLBS offers several advantages over existing brands, including box terminals that are rated for two wires each, both solid and stranded, as well as front and side operation, a modular construction, convenient door mounting, a toggle switch version - and a lower price.

In addition, there are three compelling reasons why panel builders and OEMs should consider switching to the new FSLBS:

o Modularity - Additional poles (fourth pole and neutral) and auxiliary contacts (NO/NC) can easily snap onto the side of the switch body without brackets or special part numbers.
o Versatility - The patented, innovative design allows the switch to accommodate both front and side operation. This increases the application capabilities and decreases the number of times a panel builder or OEM has to scramble for a special side-operated switch.
o Economics - The new design's modularity and versatility reduce the cost to manufacture and Ferraz Shawmut is passing these savings onto the customer.

An assortment of accessories is available to accommodate any installation requirement, including snap-on fourth poles and auxiliary contacts and a variety of handles and shafts.

The FSLBS is ready to ship from the Ferraz Shawmut warehouse. For more information contact your local sales representative or distributor or download the FSLBS Data Sheet at http://us.ferrazshawmut.com/oem/media/pdf/FSLBS-Data-Sheet.pdf.
