August 11, 2009 - Suited for outdoor use and for harsh environments, HD RooTenna(TM) series covers industry-standard 902-928 MHz and 865-868 MHz RFID frequencies, as well as wide band version for 865-960 MHz. Series offers 6 different circularly-polarized UHF antenna options that are available in choice of right-hand (RH) and left-hand (LH) circular polarization. Available in die-cast enclosure that can be pole or wall mounted, series integrates RFID antenna and compartment for reader electronics.

Laird Technologies Releases New RFID HD RooTenna(TM) Series with Weatherproof Enclosure for Harsh Environments


Innovative RFID Antenna System Delivers Ultimate System Flexibility

St. Louis, Missouri, USA - August 4, 2009 - Laird Technologies, Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacture of customized, performance-critical components for wireless systems and other advanced electronics applications, today announced the release of its new RFID HD RooTenna(TM) series that offers six options of integrated RFID antennas covering 865-960 MHz.

The RooTenna(TM) series integrates a high-performance RFID antenna and a compartment for reader electronics into an IP-67 rated weatherproof housing enclosure, making it ideal for harsh environments.

The antennas cover industry-standard 902-928 MHz and 865-868 MHz RFID frequencies, as well as a wide band version for 865-960 MHz. The series offers six different circularly-polarized UHF antenna options that are available in a choice of right-hand (RH) and left-hand (LH) circular polarization. Features include very low VSWR, axial ratio, and a fixed SMA connector.

"This RFID antenna system is ideal for outdoor use by OEMs and system integrators," said Monty Rohde, Laird Technologies' Director of Business Development, "because it allows ultimate system flexibility."

The die-cast enclosure can be pole or wall mounted and a heavy duty tilt bracket is available for those installations requiring up or down tilt. Eleven (11) engineered knockouts are provided: nine sized for N connectors and two sized for a cable feed-through.
