Capable of generating 139 ft-lb of torque to take deep cuts in tough metals, HP 5100 combines 14,000 rpm spindle speed, 1.5 sec tool-to-tool changes, and 2,362 ipm rapid traverses. It comes with dual rotary tables and shuttle APC capable of changing pallets in 7.8 sec. Measuring 19.6 x 19.6 in., pallets support work pieces up to 31.5 x 35.4 in., weighing max. of 1,100 lb. Centers have 40 taper spindle supported by 4 precision class, permanently lubricated bearings.
West Caldwell, NJ -- HP 5100 is the first of Doosan's new family of high speed, high power horizontal machining centers. For speed, the HP 5100 combines 14,000 rpm spindle speed, 1.5 second tool-to-tool changes, and 2362 ipm rapid traverses. For power, the HP 5100's 30 Hp motor generates 139 ft. lbs of low-end torque to take deep cuts in tough metals.
The HP 5100's 40 taper spindle is a true cartridge type unit that's supported by four precision class, permanently lubricated bearings. A refrigerated spindle cooling system circulates oil around the spindle, drive shaft bearings, gears, and motor flanges. This maintains cool and constant temperatures across a broad range of ambient and operating conditions.A 60 station ATC (116 and 170 station optional) uses a fixed address, shortest path tool-change method. The CAT 40 tools are automatically returned to their original pots, minimizing the risk of tool collisions.
The HP 5100 is equipped with dual rotary tables and a shuttle APC capable of changing pallets in a quick 7.8 sec. The 19.6" x 19.6" pallets support work pieces up to 31.5" diam. x 35.4", weighing a maximum of 1,100 lbs. The table can be indexed in 1deg. increments. Strong air jets discharged from the tapered cones during pallet changes remove chips from the cones to assure accurate pallet positioning. The pallet system can be easily modified to meet a variety of operating needs and conditions.
Heavy duty linear motion roller guideways provide superior acceleration/deceleration performance. High torque servos couple directly to the ball screws, eliminating gears and preventing backlash and servo drag.
Controller is the Fanuc 31i-M.
