Viking Expands FreedomŽ Line with New 5.8 K Factor Sprinkler
Hastings, MI, USA - Viking Corporation, a worldwide leader in fire protection and life safety systems, announces the availability of its new model VK474 residential concealed sprinkler. This new pendent sprinkler, which is concealed behind a flat plate, is offered in a 165°F (74°C) temperature rating and is cULus listed for up to 20 ft. x 20 ft. (6 m x 6 m) coverage areas.
With its larger K factor, the new sprinkler is well-suited for residential systems requiring a higher water demand. The VK474 compliments Viking's existing 5.8 (84) K factor residential sidewall sprinkler, both of which offer the largest possible K factor in a ˝ in (15 mm) NPT thread size. Overall, Viking's FreedomŽ line includes the widest range of available K factors, including a 4.9 (71) K factor, flat concealed sprinkler (VK457) and a 7.4 (107) K factor, domed concealed model (VK458).
Viking's flat plate concealed sprinklers are available with three cover plate options; standard round, large diameter round, and square. All flat cover plates are offered in nine standard finishes and a nearly unlimited variety of custom colors. The new VK474 is also compatible with Viking's innovative installation tools for concealed sprinklers, which allow for protective cap removal and cover plate installation from the floor, without the use of a ladder.
