Gigabit Ethernet Fiber Converter Offers Long Transmission Distance

Toronto, Canada - GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) has released a 10/100/1000Mbps adaptive Gigabit Ethernet fiber converter (MG1000A) which is optimized for 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit optical Ethernet long-distance transmission networks. It conducts transmission of extra-long packets over VLAN and extends the transmission distance of a network from 100m to 120km over copper wires. The converter conducts media conversion by using the switching technology which meets the standards of IEEE802.3, IEEE802.3u, IEEE802.3z and IEEE802.3ab.

This fiber converter, model MG1000A, has powerful functions including Quality of Service (QoS) functionality that ensures transmission of VoIP packets, as well as Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) to form a redundant network. The Gigabit Ethernet fiber converter supports mutual signal conversion between 10Base-T/100Base-TX/1000Base-T and 1000Base-SX/LX, full-duplex and half-duplex transmission modes, automatic crossing of twisted pair ports for the convenience of system debugging and installation. It is capable of automatic negotiation. The selection of multiple types of fiber ports is provided to satisfy specific user requirements.
