Membrane Removal Head Removes Boiler Tube Membrane and Overlay
A new membrane and overlay removal head that fits onto five standard MILLHOG® welding end prep tools to remove membrane, overlay, and bevel tube simul-taneously is being introduced by ESCO Tool of Holliston, Massachusetts.
The ESCO Membrane Removal Head is designed to fit five different MILLHOG® tools that cover a tube range from 7/8" to 3" O.D. for removing membrane and the overlay (cladding) from the tube's outer surface. Featuring proprietary Golf "T" inserts for assembling the head, which make 360° contact with the holder, as the head rotates the holding forces of the inserts are multi-plied which minimizes vibration, reduces heat, and maximizes their life.
Eliminating screws and head breakage, the ESCO Membrane Removal Head's Golf "T" inserts are easy to install and remove without wrenches. The head comes in two styles: one to remove membrane only and another which also removes the overlay. Both can be fit with a blade to bevel the tube simultaneously.
ESCO Membrane Removal Heads are priced from $772.50 and can be retrofit or purchased with tools. They are produced under license and covered by US Patent Nos. 5,356,248, 5,542,177, 6,995,507 7,313,992 and others pending.
