With pulse width adjustable from less than 25 up to 100 fsec, Mai Tai® SP offers bandwidth from greater than 60 nm to less than 12 nm. Stabilok® and EternAlign(TM) permanent optics mounting technologies ensure long-term environmental stability, and oscillator does not need to be opened to outside environment for pulse width adjustments, wavelength tuning, or realignment. Unit is suited for seeding Spitfire® Pro ultrafast amplifier system for time-resolved spectroscopy applications.
o Spectra-Physics® Mai Tai® SP laser features <25fs to 100fs adjustable pulse width
Mountain View, CA - June 15, 2009 - Newport Corporation's Spectra-Physics® Lasers Division introduces the Mai Tai SP, the first fully-automated, hands-free <25fs one-box ultrafast oscillator with adjustable pulse width. The Mai Tai SP is built on the proven Mai Tai laser platform with the largest installed base of one-box ultrafast lasers in the industry. The Mai Tai SP is highly stable and easy-to-use and is ideal for seeding the Spitfire® Pro ultrafast amplifier system, which can be used for pump-probe spectroscopy, THz generation, high harmonic generation and other time-resolved spectroscopy applications.
The Mai Tai SP bandwidth and wavelength are both computer adjustable - the bandwidth tunes from >60nm to <12nm, corresponding to near transform-limited pulse widths from <25fs to 100fs. The new Mai Tai SP features both Stabilok® technology and proprietary EternAlign(TM) permanent optics mounting technology to ensure exceptional long-term environmental stability. These features make the Mai Tai SP a truly hands-off laser - it does not need to be opened to the outside environment for pulse width adjustments, wavelength tuning or realignment.
"Our new Mai Tai SP laser uniquely delivers fully hands-off, short-pulse operation for dependable seeding of ultrafast amplifiers," says Herman Chui, Senior Director of Product Marketing for Newport's Spectra-Physics Lasers Division. "This new laser further extends Spectra-Physics' leadership in ultrafast laser systems, complementing our recent introductions of the Unison(TM) amplifier system, the 7W Spitfire Pro XP ultrafast amplifier, the Inspire(TM) OPO and the Inspire Blue(TM) ultrafast frequency converter."
The Mai Tai SP laser will be on display at the Laser World of Photonics, June 15-18, 2009 in Munich, Germany at Newport's booth # 101 in Hall C1. For more information on the Mai Tai SP laser, please visit www.newport.com/maitai-SP.
